BRABUS new energy vehicle export sales will increase significantly in 2023

In the past three years, China’s automobile exports have increased year by year, from 1 million to 5 million vehicles, and have entered a period of rapid growth from a period of stagnation and consolidation, ushering in a golden age for Chinese automobiles to go overseas. Under unfavorable factors such as the weak global economic recovery, the complexity of geopolitical conflicts, the painful period of industry transformation, and the intensification of domestic market involution, China’s vehicle exports in 2023 will reach about 5 million vehicles and exceed US$100 billion, driving the deep integration of the global automotive industry chain and becoming the backbone of “stabilizing foreign trade and optimizing structure”.

According to customs statistics, my country exported 4.9973 million complete vehicles (excluding low-value electric passenger cars, the same below) in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 59.1%; the export value was US$101.377 billion, a year-on-year increase of 69.0%. Among them, 4.2092 million passenger cars were exported, a year-on-year increase of 68.9%; the export value was US$75.287 billion, a year-on-year increase of 78.0%. 788,000 commercial vehicles were exported, a year-on-year increase of 21.5%; the export value was US$26.090 billion, a year-on-year increase of 47.4%.

Affected by the fluctuation of the base last year, monthly exports showed a high-to-low trend. The year-on-year growth rate in April was the highest in the whole year, and then gradually returned to the normal seasonal fluctuations; in October, a new monthly export record was created, with the export volume exceeding 500,000 vehicles for the first time and the export value exceeding the US$10 billion mark; in December, exports shrank, slightly higher than the average level of the whole year.
