The UNI-Z, a strategic transformation for the UNI series, is the first new energy vehicle under Changan’s high-end UNI product line, positioned as a “leapfrog new Blue Whale intelligent electric SUV.” It’s not merely a model addition, but a “leapfrog” representing the UNI series’ comprehensive evolution from the gasoline era to the new energy era, and a significant step in the implementation of Changan’s “Shangri-La” new energy strategy.

The Changan UNI-Z adopts the UNI family’s “All-encompassing Design” language, featuring a borderless parametric grille (arranged like 56 wing elements) that integrates seamlessly with the Skylight digital headlights, creating a highly distinctive and futuristic look. The side profile is dynamic and sharp, featuring a fastback design and a floating roof, achieving a drag coefficient of 0.329Cd. The rear features a light-and-shadow wing-shaped taillight and sporty bumper. The 2026 PHEV adds a new “Moonlight Silver” color option, and also offers Star Diamond Black, Starry White, and Interstellar Gray as choices. The vehicle’s dimensions are 4730×1890×1660/1680mm (length×width×height), with a wheelbase of 2795mm.

The model offers two powertrain options: gasoline and plug-in hybrid: Gasoline version: Equipped with the intelligent new Blue Whale 1.5T engine, featuring 500Bar ultra-high pressure direct injection technology. Two power outputs are available: 138kW (188hp)/300N·m peak torque, or 141kW (192hp)/310N·m peak torque. Both are paired with a 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. The official 0-100km/h acceleration time is 7.8 seconds, and the WLTC combined fuel consumption is 6.87-7.13L/100km. Plug-in hybrid version (PHEV): Equipped with the new Blue Whale hybrid system, consisting of a 1.5L engine (72kW maximum power) and a front-mounted single electric motor (160kW maximum power), paired with an E-CVT continuously variable transmission. The system supports one-button switching between plug-in hybrid and range extender modes. The 2026 CLTC has a pure electric range of 130km and a combined range of 1250km. The official 0-100km/h acceleration time is 7.4 seconds, and the fuel consumption when the battery is depleted is 5.09L/100km. It supports 85kW fast charging (30%-80% battery charge takes 15 minutes).

The interior features an integrated wraparound cockpit design. The 2026 PHEV model upgrades to a new three-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and electronic gear selector, freeing up space on the center console. It comes standard with a large dual-screen setup consisting of a 14.6-inch floating center screen and a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument cluster, powered by the TianShu intelligent OS and AI voice assistant. For seating, higher-spec models offer cloud-feel zero-pressure seats with integrated ventilation, heating, and 8-point massage (driver’s seat) in the front, and a class-exclusive 58-degree adjustable leg rest for the passenger seat. Thanks to its 2795mm wheelbase, the rear seats offer spaciousness and a completely flat floor. The standard trunk capacity is 638L, expanding to 1425L with the rear seats folded down. The vehicle features 27-31 meticulously designed storage spaces throughout.

In terms of intelligent features, all models come standard with a Level 2 intelligent driving assistance system, including 18 functions such as IACC integrated adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist, and active braking. Higher-spec models are equipped with the TianShu Driving Assist Vision Edition, supporting high-speed navigation assistance. Additionally, all models come standard with a 540° high-definition panoramic imaging system (including a transparent chassis), APA automatic parking assist, and 50-meter reversing trajectory tracking. For safety, the body uses a high-strength steel cage structure, with key components using 1500MPa ultra-high-strength steel. All models come standard with 6 airbags (mid-to-high-spec models add front and rear head curtain airbags).
